Do Now May seventh

The article that I read about how to make social media better for career minded students. This article though it was interesting it did not really apply to me as much as other students. I do not really use social media as much as the average high school student does. I do not have a twitter an instagram or any major social media platforms. The only media websites I really use are youtube and reddit and I do not post much on either website. Social media is not a big part of my life I do not see it helping me in anyway only distract me from the real world. This post does help kids that do use social media but it did not help me

Technology article for 4/25/14 Kill switch

On Tuesday Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Samsung along with five of the major cellular carriers have signed up to wok together to make a "kill switch" program for all phones. Kill switch system refers to a program on cell phones that would allow the user to delete all all information on his phone. The kill switch program would allow the user at any time to erase all e-mails,contacts, and texts on the phone and lock the phone so it can not be used without a password. This program is suppose to deter thieves and stop them if they are able to  break into your phone. The feature will come at no extra cost for customers. The main reason why this getting major backing is because there has been pressure from lawmakers to have a system like this on your phone. You can expect the a "kill switch" like feature on your phone by 2015.

Multimedia blog post favorite restaurant

My favorite restaurant would have to be the Park Tavern in East Rutherford New Jersey. The Park Tavern  serves a wide variety of food ranging from thin crust pizza pies all the way to chicken parmigiana. Even though Park Tavern is most famous for their pizza  my favorite dish served has to be the burgers. The Park Tavern has quick service and takes very little time for your food to be made. The cost of The Park Tavern is also very cheap not costing much money for such great food.

The Park Tavern is a local bar owned by a local family that live in the area. The Park Tavern is part bar part restaurant with the bar being in the front of building while the restaurant is in the back. This works because large formal parties can stay in the back while informal parties can have fun at the bar. This also helps with people who do not like the atmosphere of bar but like the atmosphere of a restaurant. This is part of reason why I go to the Park Tavern because even though it is a bar there is still a part where you can have a nice dinner with your family.

What would happen if The Park Tavern where to closed down where would I go ? I would probably go to the Crows Nest in Hasbrouck Heights. The reason why I would go here because it is closer to home also serves very good burgers. This is the only place that competes with how good The Park Tavern in my opinion. There are very few other places that I go to but in my opinion The Park Tavern is the best.

Wiki Dissection MB and CL

  1. What is the purpose of this Wiki?
  2. When was the last post?
  3. How was this Wiki created?
  4. What would you add to it?
  5. What did you learn from it?
  6. If you had to create a Wiki with a team, what would be the specific topic (s)?
  7. How can Wikis be used in the classroom or in education?

1.To explain the difference of sustaining and disruptive innovations.

2. Nov 7, 2007 2:53 am

3. By using the website K12wiki.wikispaces.com

4. I would group all the resources into a organized section instead of all over the page.

5. The differences between sustaining and disruptive innovations and how disruptive have gotten into the classroom.

6. I would make the subject on something I know a lot about, like soccer, so that I can provide correct information. This Wiki was more opinion based, as it was on a controversial topic, and didn’t supply many facts.

7. Wikis can be used in the classroom to provide information for lessons, or as extra notes at home for students. Also, Wikis can be used for collaboration of the class. A teacher can put up assignments, or information. Students can comment on the Wikis, and help each other with any unclear information. For English classes, it could be used to enhance editing skills, as students can go through Wikis and correct any wrong grammar.

Wiki do now 3/31

Wiki is an article that shows information about a certain topic that can be edited by the users of the website. Wikis are most commonly associated with the website Wikipedia. I have manly used wikis for researching topics I knew very little about. Wikis sadly are not really used  in the U.S. education system because of the users ability to edit the information that has already been posted on the site.

What makes you purchase or join something?

If I was to join something there only a few thing that would influence me. The main reason why I join something is because my friends would join. The other major reason that I would join something is that I could find enjoyment out of the product or something that is given. The amount of advertisements or who advertises does not matter to me.

Technology article 2/24/14 Samsung announces 2 new smart watches

On Sunday Samsung announced two new smart watches. The Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo. The two new phones are the newest addition to Samsung's line of watches and use the Tizen operating system which is specifically  made for the watches. The two new watches have a battery life of two too three days. Just like the first Gear watches there supposed to be pared up with a smart phone. This works when the smartphone receives a text or an email and the notification appears on the screen of the watch. This event is a bit of shocker for because for the last Samsung smart watch announcement Samsung held a big news conference in New York but for this announcement Samsung just released the news.

When this class first started I expected too learn how to properly use the web and how to create and use a blog using blogger.com. So far in this class I have learned how to use and create a blog. I mainly like web 2.0 because of its use of technology and also the way the information is taught. The main piece of technology we use in the classroom is an Acer laptop. I also hope as the year goes on i learn more and more how to use the internet and blogger.com.
